We know that staying mentally healthy is critical to engage in learning. According to the National Center for Education Statistics: 70% of public schools say more students are seeking mental health services. This school year, we’re proud to offer all students with access to online therapy and counseling services, through our partnership with Hazel Health. Services are 100% safe and confidential. Your student can speak 1-on-1 with a licensed therapist from the convenience of school or home, with your consent. Hazel Health provides high-quality care for all students.
Hazel Health’s licensed therapists can help students navigate a wide range of issues, including:
Hazel’s short-term online therapy program has been proven to reduce symptoms of common mental health concerns — and gives kids tools to cope with challenges they face at school and beyond. Thank you!
Parents/guardians can also visit https://getstarted.hazel.co/district/kingstonhill to find their district, create an account, complete consent, and submit a referral. Guardians can also call 888-541-7063 to submit a referral. Support available from 9am – 9pm

#1 Empowering Families: Watch Our Dyslexia Workshop Series
This June marks the 10th anniversary of Rhode Island’s dyslexia legislation, an important milestone in our shared mission to support young learners and promote evidence-based literacy instruction.
In 2015, Rhode Island passed a bill that required the Department of Education to integrate dyslexia-specific assistance into literacy programs and provide professional development to teachers. This groundbreaking step helped shape how our schools identify and support students with dyslexia.
In partnership with the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) and Decoding Dyslexia RI, RIPIN is proud to have hosted three workshops designed to equip parents, caregivers, and educators with practical tools and knowledge to better support students with dyslexia.
These recorded sessions are available on our YouTube channel. Whether you’re a parent, caregiver, educator, or advocate, these videos offer practical tools and deeper understanding to help support learners with dyslexia.
Learning to Read with Dyslexia with RIDE
Learn about the characteristics of dyslexia and how structured literacy instruction supports all learners.
Structured Literacy in the Classroom and at Home
Recognize the hallmarks of effective literacy instruction and learn how to partner with teachers and reinforce strategies at home.
Interview with RIDE & Decoding Dyslexia RI
Dive into the Science of Reading and hear directly from experts and advocates about what’s working and what’s next.
Coming October 2025
Stay tuned—we’re planning another live workshop in celebration of Dyslexia Awareness Month this fall!
Thank you for being part of the movement to ensure every child has access to the support they need to thrive.

The Star Rating system for schools summarizes overall school performance, classifying schools from 1 to 5 stars to provide families and school communities a transparent, accessible, and easy-to-understand snapshot of school performance. For 2024, KHA has been awarded a Five Star Rating. Our rating is driven by the following: Achievement and Growth in the areas of ELA, Math, and Science and School Quality and Success. This combination of scores led to the highest rating a school can receive on the accountability report card.
