KHA Summer Update Newsletter – August

Greetings Kingston Hill Academy Families and Happy Late Summer!

We hope you are all enjoying your summer vacation and that it has been filled with some relaxation, laughter, and fun! It is hard to believe that a new school year is just around the corner. It has been a busy summer for us at KHA. Mr. V, and I have been working throughout the summer in preparation for our new year ahead. In anticipation of the start of the year, we wanted to communicate as many helpful tools and resources to our families as they begin to plan for the upcoming school year.

Please be on the lookout for more communication by email and mail in the weeks to come!

Our custodians, teachers , and staff are very busy getting the building ready for the start of school and can’t wait to have you all back! Enjoy the last few weeks of your vacation!

Please keep in mind that most of our staff is still on vacation and we want to be respectful of their time. Mr. V. and I will be in the office throughout the month of August and happy to answer any questions and/or concerns.

The office staff will be working but hours may vary. Please feel free to call the office and/or email and we will get back to you within 24-48 hours.

KHA Board of Trustees Meeting – Wednesday, August 21st⋅6:00pm – 8:00pm at KHA
KHA BACK TO SCHOOL EVENT will be on AUGUST 28th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
First Student Day is September 3rd!

If you need to send in a note to the office regarding changes to your student’s dismissal

procedure for that day or a child’s absence, please send it to khaofficenotes@kingstonhill.org.

You will receive a confirmation email when the note has been received.

Please send your dismissal changes before 2 pm. All dismissal changes are sent to the

classrooms at that time. This procedure will eliminate handwritten notes sent from home

getting lost.

This email will not be monitored after 2 pm – Please DO NOT send an email after 2 pm.

Please call the office for any emergencies after 2:00 pm.

***Class/Teacher Assignments will be shared with families on 8/28- before the Back to School Event!

According to The Student/Family Handbook:

Placement: The Placement Team (the Principal, the Assistant Principal, lead teacher and classroom teacher) make classroom placement decisions. In August, KHA will inform parents/guardians of classroom placements. The selection process for each classroom is based on an individual student profile. If/when a student has an IEP, the student’s IEP team will determine their appropriate placement.

We hope everyone is enjoying their summer! With August coming up in a few days we wanted to remind everyone of the Back to School Bash at the end of the month.

Our BACK TO SCHOOL EVENT will be on AUGUST 28th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This event is great for everyone to welcome the new school year, for families and children to meet their teachers, say hi to their friends and welcome new friends!

You will be able to purchase delicious eats from the food trucks and cool down with some ice cream from the ice cream truck.
