KHA Summer Update Newsletter – June/July

Greetings Kingston Hill Academy and Happy Summer!

I hope you are all enjoying your first week of summer and staying cool despite the heat wave.

Wishing all our students, families, and staff a relaxing and enjoyable summer filled with fun and laughter!

Please keep in mind that most of our staff is on vacation and we want to be respectful of their time. Mr. V. and I will be in the office throughout the summer and happy to answer any questions and/or concerns.

The office staff will be working but hours may vary. Please feel free to call the office and/or email and we will get back to you within 24-48 hours. Thank you and enjoy your summer vacation!

Upcoming Community Events at KHA:

June 26th 6:00pm – KHA Board of Trustees Meeting

July 4th – Happy Independence Day!

July 1st – 12th – Wizard Camp at KHA

July 29th – August 8th – Summer “Ramp Up” for selected Tier 3 students and ESY Services. The programs will be held Monday- Thursday. More information to follow. No Fridays. 9am-12pm at KHA

*Please plan vacations accordingly in reference to the school calendar. Vacations are considered unexcused absences by KHA and RIDE. Thank you for your support!

Class Placements:

***Class/Teacher Assignments will be shared with families on 8/28- before the Back to School Event!

According to The Student/Family Handbook:

Placement: The Placement Team (the Principal, the Assistant Principal, lead teacher and classroom teacher) make classroom placement decisions. In August, KHA will inform parents/guardians of classroom placements. The selection process for each classroom is based on an individual student profile. If/when a student has an IEP, the student’s IEP team will determine their appropriate placement.

KHA PTO News:

Good Afternoon Parents and/or Guardians,

I know the summer has just started but we wanted you to mark your calendars early for our BACK TO SCHOOL EVENT on AUGUST 28th. This back to school event is great for everyone to welcome the new school year, for families and children to meet their teachers, say hi to their friends and welcome new friends!

You will be able to purchase delicious food from the food truck and cool down with some ice cream from the ice cream truck.

We will be sending out more updates and information to volunteer at this event as the event gets closer.
