News from Mr. V

September 5, 2023

Dear KHA Families,

I hope you all enjoyed your long and absolutely glorious Labor Day Weekend.  See below for a brief update and some new information.

First Few Days
Wow!  The back to school energy was off the charts last week.  There were so many smiling faces – children and adults alike.  It was truly very heartwarming to see.  Here’s to a fun and successful 23-24 School Year 🙂

Drop Off and Pick Up
Now that the Compass School and URI are back in session, the roads are getting a “bit busier.”  To ensure we minimize traffic, please pull up as much as possible when waiting to drop off and pick up your child(ren).  Also, please do not pass any bus on the left, including any small van transportation that we may have.

Substitute Nurse
We are currently looking for substitute nurses in case Nurse Judy is out.  If there are any current RN certified parents, friends, relatives, etc. that are interested, please contact Nurse Judy at jdangelo@kingstonhill.org.

Main Office Doors
This summer, we increased the security at the front doors. We have always had a buzzer at the first door, but we have added a buzzer at the second door as well.  Please note this when you enter the building.  Additionally, please do not hold the door open for another person to enter.  I know it sounds rude, but it’s just another way to ensure we are aware of who is in the building.

School Improvement Team (SIT)
The School Improvement Team is a school-based decision-making group made up of various stakeholders. If you are looking to provide input on many school-based decisions (both short and long-term) and to have a voice in what’s happening at KHA, then look no further than the SIT Team.

Our first meeting will be on October 17th at 3:45 in the Maker Space.  More details will be coming as we get closer to that date.

  • September 14th – Parent Orientation (6:00)
